City Life

Reaching young people in urban communities across the nation.

The purpose of City Life is to help young people to develop attitudes and behavior patterns that allow them to function more constructively in society.

The City Life Work Program emphasizes the following:

1) Teaching basic life skills, work ethics and employment responsibilites.
2) Providing an opportunity for a relationship with a caring adult role model.
3) Promoting and developing positive self-image through Jesus Christ.
4) Creating opportunities for positive peer group experiences.
5) Sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

While all of the Youth for Christ ministries share the same purpose, they meet and interact with students in different areas.  City Life meets young people in their neighborhood or small community, many who are at-risk and have already had some form of contact with the justice system.

Dale McMullen - City Life Director

Dale has been in youth ministry since 1994. He originally started an inner-city youth group in Wichita, Kansas; and continues to maintain a presence in this central neighborhood. In 1992, Dale founded a fence repair and construction company called The Fence Doctor. He currently uses this business to teach employable skills to the young men that he works with.
Dale is married to his lovely wife Carol, and they reside in Newton, Kansas. Carol is employed by Hesston M. B. Church as the secretary. Dale and Carol have one daughter Arin. In 1998, Dale graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. That same year, he was employed by Sedgwick County Department of Corrections as an activity and volunteer coordinator at the Juvenile Detention Facility. Today, he and his wife remain active volunteers within the juvenile justice system.
Dale and Carol have been members of Tabernacle Baptist "The Church Without Walls" in Wichita, KS since the year 2000. In 2003, Dale became an associate minister and in 2006 was licensed and ordained under the leadership of Rev. Lincoln E. Montgomery. In that same year, Dale received his credentials from Youth for Christ, U.S.A., and is currently the City Life director of Y.F.C. Wichita.
